History of the United States (Reproducible Study Guides for Online learning) comes with a series of worksheets that can be used in conjunction with online sources to guide students through significant events in American history, from the explorations of Christopher Columbus in 1492 to major historical events of the 21st Century. The guides provide a rich amount of information about the historical events, while also requiring students to use online resources to answer the specific questions, whether it be by watching the suggested videos or by using other sources of online information. Maps, photographs, and historical paintings are also provided on the guides to give students a visual depiction of events as they unfold. Students will learn how the United States became a nation of its own and expanded from the 13 original colonies to the 50 present-day states. Major wars involving the United States will be covered, as well as the formation of the United Nations, which strives to prevent wars from happening through peaceful resolutions. Certain questions even require students to make their own assessments of certain historical events, such as whether or not they feel the Iraq War was justified, and several essay suggestions are also included throughout the book. The final worksheet is used to familiarize students with some noteworthy inventors, both American and non-American. (Please see the table of contents for a complete list of topics included in this study guide.) For the benefit of teachers, an answer key has been provided at the back of the book.
In addition, specially designed computer-based tests to assess a student’s knowledge of the study guides are available free of charge by visiting the website of Habakkuk Educational Materials at https://www.habakkuk.net/.
